Air-Fryer Bacon Wrapped Halloumi Bites preparation stage

You’ll Need

250g halloumi, cut into 12 cubes
6 rashers streaky bacon, cut in half
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp olive oil

Optional But Dangerous
Chilli flakes
Hot honey drizzle

Cranberry dip

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Wrap each halloumi cube with half a rasher of bacon.

Secure with cocktail sticks if required.

Place the honey, black pepper, smoked paprika, and olive oil into a small bowl.

Mix thoroughly.

Brush the bacon-wrapped halloumi generously with the glaze.

Arrange the bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and beautifully caramelised.

For extra festive colour, brush with a little more honey during the final 2 minutes of cooking.

Remove carefully and allow to cool for 1 minute.

Serve immediately while the halloumi is still soft and the bacon is crispy.

Lad Tip: Halloumi has a magical ability to stay molten inside while developing incredible colour outside. The moment the bacon starts crisping around the edges, Christmas party food officially enters dangerous territory. Make extra. You'll need them.
