Air-Fryer Beans, Bacon & Potato Bake

Some of the best meals cost next to nothing, and this is proof. Crispy potatoes, smoky bacon, baked beans and bubbling cheddar all cooked together in one dish. It's cheap, filling and exactly the sort of dinner you can throw together from ingredients you've probably already got in the cupboard and fridge.

Air-Fryer Beans, Bacon & Potato Bake preparation stage

You’ll Need

Main
200g baby potatoes, halved
2 rashers smoked back bacon, chopped
½ small tin baked beans (about 200g)
40g mature cheddar, grated
1 tsp olive oil
½ tsp smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper
1 spring onion, sliced

Optional but Dangerous
Worcestershire sauce
Brown sauce
Chilli flakes
Crispy fried onions
Fried egg

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Toss the baby potatoes with the olive oil, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper.

Place them into a foil tray or heatproof dish and cook for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Add the chopped bacon and cook for another 5–6 minutes, until the bacon starts to crisp and the potatoes are golden.

Stir in the baked beans until everything is evenly combined.

Sprinkle the grated cheddar evenly over the top.

Return to the air fryer for 4–5 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the beans are bubbling.

Finish with the sliced spring onion and any optional toppings before serving.

Lad Tip: Keep a few small tins of baked beans in the cupboard rather than the large family tins. They're ideal when you're cooking for one because you use the whole tin and nothing gets forgotten in the fridge.
