Air-Fryer Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Brussels sprouts get unfair treatment every Christmas. Usually because somebody boiled them into little green balls of sadness. Not these. These are.

You’ll Need

500g Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
150g smoked bacon lardons or chopped streaky bacon
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder

Optional But Dangerous
Parmesan shavings
Honey drizzle
Chilli flakes

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Place the Brussels sprouts into a large bowl.

Add the olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Toss thoroughly until coated.

Add the bacon and mix through evenly.

Place everything into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 14–18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until the sprouts are caramelised around the edges and the bacon is crisp.

For extra festive colour, give everything a final 2-minute blast at 205°C.

Remove carefully and transfer to a serving dish.

Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Lad Tip: The dark brown crispy leaves that fall off during cooking are not mistakes. They are the best bits. If somebody starts picking them out of the bowl before dinner starts, they're absolutely right to do so.
