Air-Fryer Charred Corn Rib BBQ Trays

This is what happens when somebody looks at corn on the cob and decides it needs barbecue treatment. Sweet corn. Smoky seasoning.

Air-Fryer Charred Corn Rib BBQ Trays preparation stage

You’ll Need

4 large corn on the cobs
1 tbsp olive oil

BBQ Seasoning
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
Garlic Butter Finish
40g butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, finely grated
1 tsp honey

Optional But Dangerous
Parmesan
Fresh parsley
Lime wedges
Chipotle mayo

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Carefully cut each corn cob lengthways into quarters to create corn ribs.

Add the corn ribs to a bowl with the olive oil.

Mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, chilli flakes, salt, and black pepper.

Toss thoroughly until fully coated.

Place the corn ribs into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry for 14–16 minutes, turning halfway through.

Cook until the corn begins curling slightly and the edges become charred.

While the corn cooks, combine the melted butter, garlic, and honey.

Brush the corn generously with the garlic butter immediately after cooking.

Finish with parmesan, parsley, lime wedges, or chipotle mayo if using.

Serve immediately while still hot and smoky.

Lad Tip: The more the corn curls, the better it usually tastes. Don't panic when it starts looking slightly wild. That's exactly what proper corn ribs are supposed to do.
