You’ll Need
Burger
150g beef mince (15–20% fat)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper
Fries
180g frozen thick-cut chips
To Serve
1 brioche burger bun
1 slice mature cheddar
2 slices dill pickle
2 tomato slices
A few lettuce leaves
2 thin slices of red onion
Burger Sauce
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp tomato ketchup
½ tsp American mustard
Optional but Dangerous
Streaky bacon
Jalapeños
Crispy onions
Extra burger sauce
Method
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.
Place the frozen chips into the basket and cook for 18–20 minutes, shaking every 5–6 minutes until crisp and golden.
While the chips cook, gently mix the beef mince with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper.
Shape into one burger slightly larger than the bun, pressing a small dent into the centre to help it cook evenly.
When the chips have 10 minutes remaining, place the burger into the air fryer.
Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through, until cooked to your liking.
During the final minute, place the cheddar on top of the burger so it melts.
Warm the brioche bun in the air fryer for 1 minute.
Mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard to make the burger sauce.
Build the burger with the sauce, lettuce, tomato, burger, onion and pickles. Serve alongside the crispy chips.
