You’ll Need

6 slices thick white bread
40g melted butter
180g thick vanilla custard
70g caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
To Finish
Extra custard for dipping
Icing sugar
Optional But Dangerous
Raspberry jam
White chocolate sauce

Method

Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.

Cut the crusts from the bread and flatten each slice firmly with a rolling pin.

Mix the custard with the vanilla.

Spoon a narrow line of custard near one edge of each slice, leaving a clear border.

Roll up tightly and pinch the seam closed.

Brush all over with melted butter and place seam-side down in the basket.

Air fry for 6-8 minutes, turning once, until golden and crisp.

Roll immediately in the cinnamon sugar and serve with extra custard.

Lad Tip: Use thick custard, not pouring custard. One stays in the roll; the other redecorates the air fryer.
