Air-Fryer Honey Roast Parsnips

Parsnips divide families. Some people love them. Some people push them around the plate pretending they’re eating them. These parsnips solve that.

Air-Fryer Honey Roast Parsnips preparation stage

You’ll Need

500g parsnips, peeled and cut into batons
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried thyme

Optional But Dangerous
Extra honey
Fresh thyme
Small pinch chilli flakes

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Place the parsnips into a large bowl.

Add the olive oil, honey, melted butter, salt, black pepper, and thyme.

Toss thoroughly until every piece is coated.

Place the parsnips into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 16–20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden, caramelised, and lightly crisp around the edges.

During the final 2 minutes, drizzle over a little extra honey if you want maximum festive stickiness.

Remove carefully and serve immediately.

Finish with fresh thyme if using.

Lad Tip: Parsnips contain a surprising amount of natural sugar. Once they start catching around the edges, leave them alone. Those dark caramelised bits are exactly where the Christmas magic lives.
