Air-Fryer Maple Butter Carrots

Every Christmas dinner has that one side dish nobody talks about beforehand and everybody suddenly wants more of once it arrives. These are those.

Air-Fryer Maple Butter Carrots preparation stage

You’ll Need

500g carrots, peeled and cut into batons
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried thyme

Optional But Dangerous
Extra maple syrup
Fresh thyme
Small pinch chilli flakes

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Place the carrots into a large bowl.

Add the melted butter, maple syrup, salt, black pepper, and thyme.

Toss thoroughly until every carrot baton is coated.

Place the carrots into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 14–18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until tender, glossy, and lightly caramelised around the edges.

For extra festive colour, drizzle over a little more maple syrup during the final 2 minutes of cooking.

Remove carefully and transfer to a serving dish.

Finish with fresh thyme if using.

Serve immediately while hot and buttery.

Lad Tip: The best roasted carrots always look slightly overcommitted around the edges. Once the maple syrup starts caramelising and darkening, you're entering Christmas dinner elite territory.
