Air Fryer Smokehouse Burnt Onion Dip Bread Bowl preparation stage

You’ll Need

1 round crusty bread loaf
2 large onions, thinly sliced
6 rashers smoked streaky bacon, chopped
150g cream cheese
100g mature cheddar, grated
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp cracked black pepper
1 tbsp butter

Optional but dangerous
Jalapeños
Crispy onions
Hot honey
Extra cheddar

Method

Preheat air fryer to 190°C.

Cook bacon for 5–6 minutes until crisp. Remove.

Add onions and butter to a foil tray. Air fry 10–12 minutes, stirring halfway, until dark, soft and sweet.

Mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, cheddar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, Worcestershire, black pepper,

bacon and onions.

Hollow out the bread loaf, keeping the lid and torn bread pieces for dipping.

Fill the loaf with the dip mixture. Air fry at 180°C for 8–10 minutes until bubbling.

Add extra cheddar and blast 2 minutes more.

Serve hot with the torn bread pieces.

Lad Tip: Let the onions go properly dark. Pale onions taste polite. Burnt-edge onions taste like barbecue.
