Air-Fryer Smoky Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites

This is barbecue food for people who believe wrapping one good thing around another good thing usually improves both. Juicy chicken.

You’ll Need

600g chicken breast or chicken thighs, cut into chunky bite-sized pieces
12 rashers streaky bacon
1 tbsp olive oil

Smokehouse Seasoning
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper

BBQ Glaze
3 tbsp BBQ sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Optional But Dangerous
Ranch dip
Jalapeños
Corn ribs
Loaded wedges

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Add the chicken pieces to a bowl.

Toss with the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Cut the bacon rashers in half.

Wrap each chicken piece with bacon and secure with a cocktail stick if needed.

Place the wrapped chicken bites into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway through.

While they cook, mix together the BBQ sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce.

During the final 3–4 minutes, brush the bites generously with the glaze.

Return to the fryer until the bacon is crisp, the chicken is cooked through, and the glaze becomes dark and sticky.

Remove carefully and allow to rest for 1 minute.

Serve immediately with dips and cold drinks.

Lad Tip: Bacon always shrinks more than you think it will. Wrap it tighter than feels necessary. Future-you will thank present-you when half the bacon isn't sitting lonely in the bottom of the basket.
