Air-Fryer Turkey Club Christmas Sandwich Melts

This is what happens when a Christmas sandwich refuses to behave itself. Turkey. Bacon. Cheese. Cranberry sauce. Golden toasted bread. Everything.

Air-Fryer Turkey Club Christmas Sandwich Melts preparation stage

You’ll Need

6 slices thick white bread or sourdough
250g cooked turkey, sliced or shredded
6 rashers streaky bacon, cooked crisp
100g mature cheddar, grated
2 tbsp cranberry sauce
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp black pepper
2 tsp butter, softened

Optional But Dangerous
Stuffing leftovers
Brie instead of cheddar

Turkey gravy for dipping

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 190°C.

Butter one side of each slice of bread.

Lay the bread butter-side down on a board.

Spread mayonnaise over the unbuttered sides.

On two slices, layer turkey, bacon, cranberry sauce, and cheddar.

Top with another slice of bread.

Repeat the filling process again to create a second layer.

Finish with the final slice of bread to create a triple-decker festive monster.

Secure gently with cocktail sticks if required.

Place carefully into the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 190°C for 4–5 minutes.

Carefully flip.

Cook for another 4–5 minutes until golden, crisp, and beautifully toasted.

Remove carefully.

Allow to sit for 1 minute before slicing diagonally.

Serve immediately while the cheese is molten and everything is trying to escape from the bread.

Lad Tip: This is one of those sandwiches that requires both hands, several napkins, and absolutely no dignity. If you've got leftover stuffing, add it. Christmas sandwiches should always be slightly bigger than common sense recommends.
