Air-Fryer Apple Pie Roll-ups

Air-fryer apple pie roll-ups from Sweet Munch, built for hot pastry, molten centres, sticky sugar and proper dessert chaos.

No pie dish. No lattice nonsense. Just hot apple, butter, sugar, and crisp pastry doing exactly what they’re meant to do. They taste nostalgic, smell unreal while cooking, and disappear far quicker than a “proper” pie ever would.

Air-Fryer Apple Pie Roll-ups preparation stage

You’ll Need

Ready-rolled puff pastry
Apples (any eating apple works)
Butter
Sugar
Ground cinnamon

Optional but Encouraged
Brown sugar instead of white
Vanilla ice cream
Custard

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for 3–5 minutes.

2 - Peel, core, and finely dice the apples. Small pieces cook faster and don’t tear the pastry.

3 - Add the apple to a bowl with melted butter, sugar, and a good pinch of cinnamon. Mix well.

4 - Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into long strips.

5 - Spoon a thin line of apple mixture along one edge of each strip. Don’t overfill — rollups leak easily.

6 - Roll the pastry up tightly around the apple to form neat spirals.

7 - Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line with baking paper.

8 - Place the roll-ups seam-side down in the basket, leaving space between them.

9 - Air fry at 180°C for 10–12 minutes until golden, puffed, and crisp.

10 - Remove carefully and let them sit for a minute. The apple inside will be molten. Serve hot.

Lad Tip: Brown sugar gives deeper flavour and more caramelisation. If apple juice leaks out and bubbles round the pastry, that’s correct behaviour. These are elite with ice cream melting over the top or drowned in custard. Eat hot. Cold apple pie is sad apple pie.
