You’ll Need
350g raw king prawns, peeled
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
Juice of half a lemon
Small handful fresh parsley, chopped
Wooden skewers, soaked if required
Optional but dangerous
Garlic butter
Lemon wedges
Aioli
Flatbreads
Cold lager
Method
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C. Pat the prawns dry with kitchen paper. In a bowl combine the olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, chilli flakes, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Add the prawns and coat thoroughly until every prawn is loaded with seasoning. Thread the prawns onto skewers, leaving a little space between them so the hot air can circulate properly. Place the skewers into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through, until the prawns are pink, lightly charred, and cooked through. For extra barbecue-style colour, give them a final 1–2 minute blast at 205°C. Finish with fresh parsley and extra lemon wedges.
Serve immediately while still sizzling hot.
