You’ll Need
500g beef mince (20% fat works best)
4 burger cheese slices
4 brioche burger buns
1 tbsp butter
1 large onion, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
Steakhouse Seasoning
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp cracked black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
Burger Sauce
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp pickle juice
Optional but Dangerous
Streaky bacon
Jalapeños
Crispy onions
Loaded fries
Method
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.
Add the sliced onion and olive oil to a foil tray.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, stirring halfway, until soft and caramelised.
Divide the beef mince into 8 loose balls.
Flatten each ball into thin burger patties.
Season both sides with the steakhouse seasoning.
Place the patties into the air fryer basket in batches.
Air fry at 200°C for 4–5 minutes until browned and slightly crisp around the edges.
Top four patties with cheese slices during the final minute.
Stack a second patty onto each cheesy patty to create double burgers.
Mix together all burger sauce ingredients.
Butter the brioche buns lightly and warm them in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes.
Build the burgers: bottom bun, burger sauce, double beef patties, caramelised onions, extra sauce, top bun.
Add bacon, jalapeños, or crispy onions if using.
Serve immediately while everything is still hot enough to be mildly dangerous.
