Air-Fryer Chilli Lime Fish Bites preparation stage

You’ll Need

400g cod, haddock or pollock, cut into bite-sized chunks
1 tbsp olive oil
Juice of 1 lime
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
Oil spray

Optional but dangerous
Garlic mayo
Sweet chilli sauce
Lime wedges
Fresh coriander

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Pat the fish pieces dry with kitchen paper.

Add the fish to a bowl with olive oil, lime juice, smoked paprika, chilli flakes, garlic powder, salt and black pepper.

Toss gently until every piece is coated. Don’t mash it about like you’re mixing cement. Fish needs a bit of respect.

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.

Place the fish bites in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, turning carefully halfway through, until lightly golden and cooked through.

Finish with extra lime juice if using.

Serve immediately with garlic mayo or sweet chilli sauce.

Lad Tip: The lime goes in twice if you’re doing it properly: once before cooking, once at the end. First one builds flavour. Second one wakes everything up.
