You’ll Need

Thick sliced white bread or brioche
Milk chocolate or dark chocolate
Eggs
Milk
Double cream
Sugar
Butter

Optional but Encouraged
Cocoa powder
Vanilla extract
Ice cream or custard

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 170°C for 3–5 minutes.

2 - Lightly butter the bread and cut it into chunky pieces.

3 - Layer the bread into small oven-safe pots or ramekins, scattering chocolate between the layers.

4 - In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, double cream, sugar, and a splash of vanilla if using.

5 - Pour the custard mixture over the bread, pressing it down gently so it soaks everything up.

6 - Let the pots sit for 2–3 minutes if you’ve got time. This helps it go properly soft inside.

7 - Place the pots into the air fryer basket.

8 - Air fry at 170°C for 12–15 minutes until puffed, lightly golden on top, and just set in the middle.

9 - Remove and let them sit for a minute before serving. Serve warm.

Lad Tip: If the top browns too fast, drop the temperature slightly and let it finish gently. Brioche takes this into elite territory.
