Air-Fryer Chocolate Orange Puff Pastry Twists preparation stage

You’ll Need

Ready-rolled puff pastry
Dark or milk chocolate
Orange (zest only)

Optional but Encouraged
Orange chocolate (if you’ve got it)
Melted butter or egg wash
Icing sugar

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for 3–5 minutes.

2 - Unroll the puff pastry onto a board and cut it into long strips.

3 - Finely chop the chocolate or sprinkle chocolate chips along the pastry strips.

4 - Zest the orange directly over the chocolate so it spreads evenly.

5 - Fold each strip in half lengthways, pressing gently to seal the chocolate inside.

6 - Twist each strip a few times to form loose spirals. Don’t overdo it — leave room for puffing.

7 - Brush lightly with melted butter or egg wash if using.

8 - Line the air fryer basket with baking paper and lay the twists inside with space between them.

9 - Air fry at 180°C for 8–10 minutes until puffed, deeply golden, and crisp.

10 - Remove carefully and let them cool slightly so the chocolate sets just enough. Dust with icing sugar if you’re feeling fancy.

Lad Tip: Orange zest does the heavy lifting here — don’t skip it. If chocolate leaks out and crisps up, that’s a win, not a problem.
