Air-Fryer Dirty Bacon Pork Burger Melts preparation stage

You’ll Need

500g pork mince
1 small onion, finely diced
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
6 rashers smoked streaky bacon
4 burger buns
4 slices mature cheddar
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Sticky Onions
1 large onion, sliced
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp butter
To Finish
Burger sauce or garlic mayo
Optional but Dangerous
Fried egg
Jalapeños
Hash browns
Extra bacon

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 200°C. 2 - In a bowl combine the pork mince, diced onion, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. 3 - Mix thoroughly and shape into 4 burger patties. 4 - Place the sliced onion and butter into a small foil tray and air fry for 4 minutes. 5 - Stir through the brown sugar and continue cooking for another 4–5 minutes until soft and sticky. 6 - Place the bacon into the air fryer basket and cook for 6–8 minutes until crisp. Remove and set aside. 7 - Add the pork burgers to the basket and air fry at 200°C for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through. 8 - During the final 2 minutes place a slice of cheddar onto each burger so it melts properly. 9 - Warm the burger buns for 1–2 minutes. 10 - Build the burgers: sauce first, then pork burger, crispy bacon, sticky onions, and any dangerous extras you're using. 11 - Place the tops on and try to maintain structural control. Serve immediately while hot, cheesy, and slightly impossible to eat neatly.

Lad Tip: Pork burgers stay juicier than most people expect, which is why they're criminally underrated. The secret is not flattening them into hockey pucks. Keep them thick, let the fat do its job, and the burger practically cooks itself.
