Sweet Munch Recipe

Air-Fryer Five-minute Chocolate Lava Pots

Air-fryer five-minute chocolate lava pots from Sweet Munch, built for hot pastry, molten centres, sticky sugar and proper dessert chaos.

No mixers. No water baths. No patience required. These are dangerous because they look calm right up until the spoon goes in. This is how you end Sweet Munch — hot, rich, and unapologetic.

You’ll Need

Dark or milk chocolate
Butter
Sugar
Egg
Plain flour

Optional but Encouraged
Vanilla ice cream
Double cream
Cocoa powder for dusting

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 190°C. This one wants heat.

2 - Lightly butter two small oven-safe pots or ramekins.

3 - Melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth. Microwave or hob — doesn’t matter. Let it cool slightly.

4 - Stir the sugar into the melted chocolate until combined.

5 - Beat in the egg until glossy.

6 - Fold in the flour gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

7 - Spoon the mixture evenly into the prepared pots. Don’t fill right to the top.

8 - Place the pots into the air fryer basket.

9 - Air fry at 190°C for 5–6 minutes.

10 - The tops should look just set, but the middle should still be molten underneath.

11 - Remove carefully and let them sit for 30 seconds. Serve immediately.

Lad Tip: If you cook these too long, you’ve made a brownie. Still nice, but not the point. Every air fryer’s slightly different — check one at 5 minutes the first time. These are elite with ice cream melting straight into the middle. Eat hot. Lava doesn’t wait.
