Air-Fryer Jam Doughnut Bread Pudding

Air-fryer jam doughnut bread pudding from Sweet Munch, built for hot pastry, molten centres, sticky sugar and proper dessert chaos.

This is what happens when a jam doughnut and a bread pudding spend too much time together. Soft doughnuts. Warm custard. Sticky raspberry jam. Golden sugary tops. The sort of dessert that arrives at the table looking innocent and then quietly destroys all self-control within

You’ll Need

4 jam doughnuts, roughly chopped
300ml whole milk
150ml double cream
2 eggs
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp raspberry or strawberry jam
2 tbsp demerara sugar
Optional But Dangerous
Custard
Vanilla ice cream
White chocolate chunks

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 170°C.

Lightly grease a small oven-safe dish or foil pudding tray.

Scatter the chopped jam doughnuts evenly into the dish.

In a bowl, whisk together the milk, double cream, eggs, caster sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Pour the custard mixture evenly over the doughnut pieces.

Leave for 5 minutes so the doughnuts start soaking up the custard.

Dot the extra jam over the top.

Sprinkle over the demerara sugar.

Air fry at 170°C for 14–18 minutes until the pudding is golden on top, lightly crisp around the edges, and still

slightly soft in the centre.

Allow to sit for 3 minutes before serving.

Serve hot with custard, ice cream, or both if you're making absolutely no attempt at restraint.

Lad Tip: The best bread puddings should still wobble slightly when they come out of the fryer. If it's completely firm, you've gone too far. Let the residual heat finish the job while you grab the custard.
