Air-Fryer Late-night Mixed Munch Box
Air-Fryer Late-night Mixed Munch Box preparation stage

This is the final boss of fakeaways. The thing that arrives at the door when nobody can agree what they want. Chicken strips. Doner meat. Onion rings. Chips. Mozzarella sticks. Garlic sauce. Chilli sauce. Everything thrown into one gigantic tray and somehow becoming greater than the sum of its parts. It's chaos. It's excessive. It's exactly why takeaway menus exist.

You’ll Need

300g chicken breast, cut into strips
300g prepared doner meat or homemade doner strips
300g frozen thick-cut fries, 8 mozzarella sticks
8 onion rings, 80g plain flour, 40g cornflour, 2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper
Oil spray

Garlic Sauce
4 tbsp mayonnaise, 2 tbsp Greek yoghurt
2 cloves garlic, finely grated
Small squeeze of lemon

To Finish
Shredded lettuce, Sliced red onion, Diced tomato
Chilli sauce

Optional but Dangerous
Jalapeños
Pickled chillies
Extra cheese

BBQ sauce

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Mix together the flour, cornflour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Dip the chicken strips into the beaten egg.

Coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.

Lightly spray the basket with oil.

Cook the chicken strips at 200°C for 12–14 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.

Cook the fries according to packet instructions until deeply golden and crisp.

Cook the mozzarella sticks and onion rings according to packet instructions until crunchy and molten inside.

Meanwhile cook the doner meat at 200°C for 4–5 minutes until hot and crispy around the edges.

Mix together the garlic sauce ingredients.

Fill a large serving tray with the fries.

Pile on the chicken strips, doner meat, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings.

Scatter over lettuce, red onion, and tomato.

Drizzle heavily with garlic sauce and chilli sauce.

Add any extras you're using.

Serve immediately while hot, messy, and large enough to feed several people who have completely abandoned

self-control.

Lad Tip: A proper munch box should look slightly ridiculous when it arrives at the table. If somebody says, "There's no way we're finishing all that," you've got the portion size exactly right. Usually they're wrong anyway.
