Air-Fryer Loaded Steak & Cheese Garlic Bread Boats preparation stage

You’ll Need

1 large garlic baguette or garlic bread loaf
500g sirloin or rump steak, sliced thin
1 tbsp olive oil
150g grated mozzarella
100g grated mature cheddar
2 cloves garlic, finely grated
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
20g butter, melted

Optional but Dangerous
Caramelised onions
Jalapeños
Garlic mayo
BBQ sauce

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Slice the garlic bread lengthways to create two large halves.

Brush lightly with the melted butter and set aside.

Toss the steak strips with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Place the steak into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 5–7 minutes, shaking halfway, until browned around the edges.

Mix the grated garlic into the melted butter and brush over the garlic bread.

Scatter half the mozzarella and cheddar over the bread.

Top with the cooked steak strips.

Add the remaining cheese generously over the top.

Return the loaded bread to the air fryer.

Cook at 180°C for 4–6 minutes until the cheese is fully melted, bubbling, and starting to brown.

Finish with caramelised onions, jalapeños, garlic mayo, or BBQ sauce if using.

Slice into thick portions and serve immediately while everything is molten.

Lad Tip: If the cheese isn't stretching halfway across the kitchen when somebody pulls a slice away, you haven't used enough. This is not the time for restraint.
