Sweet Munch Recipe

Air-Fryer Malteser Melt Cups

Air-fryer malteser melt cups from Sweet Munch, built for hot pastry, molten centres, sticky sugar and proper dessert chaos.

They’re the sort of dessert that look neat until the spoon goes in. After that, it’s chaos.

You’ll Need

Milk chocolate
Maltesers
Double cream

Optional but Encouraged
Butter
Cocoa powder or icing sugar for dusting
Vanilla ice cream

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 170°C for 3–5 minutes.

2 - Break the milk chocolate into small pieces and place into a heatproof bowl or ramekin.

3 - Add a splash of double cream and a small knob of butter if using.

4 - Place the bowl into the air fryer and heat at 170°C for 3–4 minutes, stirring once, until melted and smooth.

5 - Crush some of the Maltesers lightly and stir them into the melted chocolate, keeping a few whole.

6 - Spoon the mixture into small oven-safe cups or ramekins.

7 - Press a couple of whole Maltesers into the centre of each cup.

8 - Return the cups to the air fryer and cook at 170°C for 4–6 minutes until the edges are set but the middle is still soft.

9 - Remove and let them sit for 1–2 minutes. They will continue to firm up slightly. Serve warm.

Lad Tip: Don’t overcook. These are meant to slump in the middle. A dusting of cocoa powder makes them look polite. They aren’t.
