You’ll Need
Ready-rolled puff pastry
Nutella
Ripe bananas
Optional but Encouraged
Egg wash or melted butter
Icing sugar
Chocolate sauce or ice cream
Method
1 - Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for 3–5 minutes.
2 - Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into even squares or rectangles.
3 - Slice the bananas into coins, not too thick or they’ll burst the pastry.
4 - Spoon a small amount of Nutella into the centre of each pastry square.
5 - Lay a few banana slices on top of the Nutella. Don’t overfill — these spread when hot.
6 - Fold the pastry over to form triangles or rectangles and press the edges firmly to seal. Crimp with a fork if you want insurance.
7 - Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with baking paper.
8 - Place the turnovers seam-side down in the basket, leaving space between them.
9 - Brush the tops with egg wash or melted butter for colour.
10 - Air fry at 180°C for 10–12 minutes until puffed, golden, and crisp.
11 - Remove carefully and let them sit for a minute. The filling will be lava-hot. Dust with icing sugar before serving if you’re feeling polite.
