Air-Fryer Nutella Bomboloni Bites

Air-fryer nutella bomboloni bites from Sweet Munch, built for hot pastry, molten centres, sticky sugar and proper dessert chaos.

This is what happens when Italian doughnuts stop caring about moderation. Soft dough. Warm Nutella. Sugar-coated outsides. Molten chocolate centres. The sort of dessert that tricks you into thinking one will be enough right up until you've eaten four and started

Air-Fryer Nutella Bomboloni Bites preparation stage

You’ll Need

1 tube ready-made croissant dough or sweet dough
6 tbsp Nutella
25g butter, melted
75g caster sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
For The Finish
2 tbsp Nutella, warmed
Optional But Dangerous
Vanilla ice cream
White chocolate drizzle
Crushed hazelnuts

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 180°C.

Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Flatten each piece slightly and place a small spoonful of Nutella in the centre.

Fold the dough around the filling and seal completely into balls.

Place the dough balls seam-side down into the air fryer basket lined with baking paper.

Air fry at 180°C for 8–10 minutes until puffed, golden, and cooked through.

Mix together the caster sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

Brush the hot doughnuts with melted butter.

Immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Drizzle lightly with warmed Nutella before serving.

Serve warm while the centres are still molten.

Lad Tip: Seal the dough properly. A little Nutella leakage is acceptable. A full chocolate eruption is entertaining, but you'll lose half the filling. Aim for controlled chaos rather than total structural failure.
