Air-Fryer Orange Honey Chicken Wings
Air-Fryer Orange Honey Chicken Wings preparation stage

You’ll Need

1kg chicken wings
2 tbsp orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper

Optional but Dangerous
Orange wedges
Aioli
Cold Spanish lager
Fresh parsley

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Pat the wings dry with kitchen paper. Crispy skin starts with dry chicken.

In a large bowl, mix together the orange juice, orange zest, honey, olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Add the wings and coat thoroughly until every wing is covered in the glaze.

Place the wings into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Work in batches if necessary.

Air fry at 200°C for 22–25 minutes, turning halfway through, until deeply golden and crisp.

During the final 3 minutes, brush over any remaining glaze so it caramelises onto the wings.

Finish with orange wedges and parsley if using.

Serve immediately while hot, sticky, and gloriously messy.

Lad Tip: According to Manuel, orange and chicken have been getting along perfectly well in Valencia for generations. If the glaze ends up stuck to your fingers, your plate, and possibly your shirt, you've done it correctly.
