Air-Fryer Smoky Paprika Pork Steaks preparation stage

You’ll Need

2 large pork shoulder or pork loin steaks
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp brown sugar
Juice of half a lemon
To Finish
Fresh parsley
Lemon wedges
Optional but Dangerous
Chunky chips
Garlic mushrooms
Peppercorn sauce
Fried onions

Method

1 - Preheat your air fryer to 200°C. 2 - Pat the pork steaks dry with kitchen paper. 3 - In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, chilli flakes, brown sugar, and lemon juice. 4 - Rub the mixture thoroughly over both sides of the pork steaks. 5 - Leave for 10–15 minutes if you've got time. If not, crack on. 6 - Place the pork steaks into the air fryer basket in a single layer. 7 - Air fry at 200°C for 6 minutes. 8 - Turn the steaks and cook for another 6–8 minutes until beautifully coloured and cooked through. 9 - For extra smoky crust, blast for a final 2 minutes at 205°C. 10 - Rest the pork for 2–3 minutes before serving. 11 - Finish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately with chips, vegetables, or whatever happens to be nearby.

Lad Tip: Most people ruin pork by overcooking it because they're frightened of it. Pork wants resting time just as much as steak does. Give it a few minutes before cutting and all those juices stay where they belong instead of flooding the plate.
