Air-Fryer Steak Fajita Loaded Fries preparation stage

You’ll Need

500g sirloin or rump steak, sliced into thin strips
500g frozen thick-cut fries
1 red pepper, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
100g grated cheddar
50g grated mozzarella
1 tbsp olive oil

Fajita Seasoning
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp chilli powder
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper

Optional but Dangerous
Sour cream
Guacamole
Jalapeños
Hot sauce

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Cook the fries for 16–20 minutes, shaking every 5 minutes, until crisp and golden.

Meanwhile toss the steak strips with the olive oil and fajita seasoning.

Add the sliced peppers and onions to the steak and mix thoroughly.

During the final 8 minutes of cooking, add the steak, peppers, and onions to the air fryer.

Cook until the steak is browned around the edges and the vegetables soften slightly.

Transfer the fries into a foil tray or heatproof dish.

Pile the steak, peppers, and onions generously over the fries.

Top with the cheddar and mozzarella.

Return to the air fryer at 180°C for 3–4 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.

Finish with sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños, or hot sauce if using.

Serve immediately while everything is still sizzling.

Lad Tip: Loaded fries should require strategic planning before the first forkful. If every bite doesn't contain steak, cheese, fries, and something falling off the side, you've underloaded the tray.
