Air-Fryer Steakhouse Breakfast Hash Boxes preparation stage

You’ll Need

500g sirloin or rump steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
600g potatoes, diced into small cubes
1 small onion, diced
4 eggs
100g grated cheddar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp cracked black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder

Optional but Dangerous
Crispy bacon
Hot sauce
Spring onions
Garlic mayo

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Toss the potatoes with half the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Air fry for 18–20 minutes, shaking every 5 minutes, until crisp and golden.

Meanwhile toss the steak cubes with the remaining olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Add the onion and steak to the air fryer during the final 6–8 minutes.

Cook until the steak develops dark roasted edges and the onions soften.

Transfer everything into a foil tray or heatproof dish.

Scatter over the grated cheddar.

Make four small wells in the mixture and crack an egg into each one.

Return to the air fryer at 180°C for 5–7 minutes until the eggs are cooked to your liking.

Finish with spring onions, bacon, hot sauce, or garlic mayo if using.

Serve immediately while still sizzling.

Lad Tip: Breakfast hash should look like somebody lost control halfway through cooking it. Crispy bits, melted cheese, runny yolks, and steak everywhere. If it looks neat and organised, you've missed the spirit of the thing.
