Air-Fryer Sticky Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings preparation stage

You’ll Need

1kg chicken wings
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp cracked black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder

Lemon Pepper Glaze
40g butter, melted
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of ½ lemon
1 tsp cracked black pepper
½ tsp honey

To Finish
Fresh parsley
Extra lemon wedges

Optional but Dangerous
Garlic mayo
Potato wedges
Ranch dip

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Pat the wings dry thoroughly with kitchen paper.

Toss the wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Place into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Air fry at 200°C for 22–25 minutes, turning halfway through, until deeply golden and crisp.

While the wings cook, mix together the melted butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, cracked black pepper, and honey.

Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl.

Pour over the lemon pepper glaze.

Toss thoroughly until every wing is coated.

Return to the air fryer for 2 minutes to let the glaze tighten slightly.

Finish with parsley and extra lemon wedges.

Serve immediately.

Lad Tip: Most people stop adding black pepper far too early. Lemon pepper wings should smell of lemon first and pepper second, but by the third wing that pepper should be quietly taking over the conversation.
