Air-Fryer Sticky Maple Pecan Buns

Air-fryer sticky maple pecan buns from Sweet Munch, built for hot pastry, molten centres, sticky sugar and proper dessert chaos.

This is what happens when cinnamon rolls decide they need more butter, more sugar, and absolutely no supervision. Soft sweet dough. Sticky maple glaze. Crunchy pecans. Golden caramelised edges.

Air-Fryer Sticky Maple Pecan Buns preparation stage

You’ll Need

1 tube ready-made cinnamon roll dough or sweet dough
60g pecans, roughly chopped
3 tbsp maple syrup
40g butter, melted
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
For The Glaze
2 tbsp maple syrup
50g icing sugar
1 tbsp milk
Optional But Dangerous
Extra pecans
Biscoff spread
Vanilla ice cream

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 170°C.

Lightly grease a small cake tin, foil tray, or oven-safe dish that fits inside your air fryer.

Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and 3 tbsp maple syrup together.

Scatter half the pecans into the base of the dish.

Pour over half the maple mixture.

Arrange the cinnamon rolls or dough pieces snugly into the dish.

Pour over the remaining maple mixture and scatter over the remaining pecans.

Air fry at 170°C for 12–15 minutes until the buns are risen, golden, and sticky around the edges.

Allow to cool for 3–4 minutes.

Mix together the icing sugar, milk, and remaining maple syrup until smooth.

Drizzle generously over the warm buns.

Serve immediately while soft, sticky, and still slightly dangerous.

Lad Tip: The best bit is always the sticky caramelised maple glaze hiding around the edges of the tray. Scrape every last bit out before anybody else gets there first.
