Air-Fryer Typhoon Shelter Garlic Prawns preparation stage

You’ll Need

350g raw king prawns, peeled, 1 tbsp vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped, 1 red chilli, finely sliced, 2 spring onions, sliced
1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, ½ tsp white pepper, Salt

Optional but Dangerous
Extra chilli oil
Fresh coriander
Lime wedges
Steamed rice

Method

Preheat your air fryer to 190°C.

In a bowl, combine the prawns, vegetable oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and a small pinch of salt.

Add half the garlic and mix thoroughly.

Place the prawns into a foil tray or heatproof dish.

Air fry at 190°C for 7–9 minutes, stirring once halfway through.

During the final 2 minutes, add the remaining garlic, chilli, and spring onions.

Continue cooking until the prawns are pink, lightly charred around the edges, and coated in fragrant garlic.

Remove carefully and toss everything together while still hot.

Finish with extra spring onions and coriander if using. Serve immediately while sizzling and aromatic.

Lad Tip: Typhoon Shelter cooking is all about the garlic. If you look at the tray afterwards and think, "That seems like too much garlic," you're probably still slightly under the correct amount.
