
You’ll Need
For the Betty Pots
700g cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
160g fresh coarse breadcrumbs
60g butter, melted
70g soft brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
4 tbsp water
Pinch of sea salt
Optional but dangerous
Hot custard
Natural yoghurt
A little extra cinnamon
Equipment
Four buttered 350ml heatproof ramekins and foil
Method
Mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter, half the sugar and the salt.
Toss the apples with the remaining sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon zest and juice.
Layer crumbs, apples and crumbs in each ramekin, finishing with a firm crumb top.
Spoon 1 tablespoon of water down the side of each pot.
Cover tightly with foil and preheat the air fryer to 170°C.
Air fry for 18 minutes, then carefully remove the foil.
Increase the air fryer to 195°C and cook for 7-10 minutes until the tops are crisp and the apples bubble at the edges.
Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
