Bread Story
Roti is the bread that quietly holds an Indian meal together. No cheese. No fancy fillings. Just soft, lightly charred wholemeal flatbreads that are perfect for tearing, folding and scooping up every last bit of curry. Fresh from the air fryer, they're wonderfully soft with those signature toasted spots that make homemade roti so satisfying.

Method
Combine the wholemeal flour, strong white bread flour and sea salt in a large bowl.
Add the vegetable oil and warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough and leave it to rest for 30 minutes.
Divide into eight equal-sized balls.
Roll each ball into a thin circle approximately 18–20cm in diameter, dusting lightly with flour if needed.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C.
Air fry each roti for 2–3 minutes, turning halfway through, until lightly puffed with golden brown and lightly
charred patches.
Remove immediately and brush both sides with melted butter or ghee.
Stack the cooked rotis under a clean tea towel to keep them warm and soft until serving.
